The makers of Limbo the game, which made back its production costs of DKK 15 million in just 3 weeks.
CAPNOVA invested in Playdead in 2008 to promote the development of founders Arnt Jensen’s and Dino Patti’s first title “Limbo”, released in 2010. CAPNOVA exited the gaming company in 2012.
Limbo is one of the biggest Danish gaming successes in recent times, and has won over 100 awards for, among other things, its atmospheric universe without text and speech and black and white graphics.
The game made back its production costs of DKK 15 million in just 3 weeks.
Over five million copies of the game have been sold, and nine years after its release, it is still selling.
In 2016, Playdead released Inside, which, like Limbo, became a major financial and commercial success.
The gaming company was Denmark’s most talented IT company in 2018 measured by financial figures (Computerworlds Top 100).
The company employs 40 people and was able to show a profit of DKK 58 million in 2018. DKK (Børsen).
