As early as the late 1990s, the founders of Retail Internet had the idea of digitizing and personalizing promotional newspapers using targeted emails.
CAPNOVA invested in Retail Internet in 1999 and later on, former Oticon chief Lars Kolind and TDC also invested in the company. CAPNOVA sold its shares in 2006.
In 2006, Retail Internet was the Nordic region’s largest provider of advertising via e-mail and SMS. That same year, the French listed company Come & Stay acquired the company for a three-digit million figure.
