Sorbisense has developed a unique and patented technology for efficient measurement and monitoring of all types of water, which helps to minimize environmental impact.

Sorbisense was founded in 2004 as a spin-out company from the University of Aarhus. CAPNOVA invested in the company in 2004 and sold its shares in 2017.

The company’s solution is particularly well suited for permanent monitoring of drainage systems, measurement of emissions from companies, roads, plazas and roofs and from cultivated areas – and can therefore help prevent harmful substances from e.g. agriculture being led out into nature.

Sorbisense’s technology is not dependent on electricity and works without the use of resources other than nature’s own – in this way, the technology is both sustainable and cheap to operate.

In 2017, the global testing and laboratory group Eurofins acquired Sorbisense. However, the company still operates as a standalone entity. The collaboration enables Sorbisense’s products to be more easily sold on the international market, thereby contributing to improved water quality on a global scale.
